Udhvabani Lab Bangladesh

Udhvabani Lab Bangladesh while established a community engagement strategy once the Korail community had been selected as one of the prior targeted communitys for the project. Being the biggest urban slum smacked in affluent neighbourhood in Dhaka, Korail community is known to be notorious with much diversified people from all corners of Bangladesh coming to earn a living in the city. Understandably this is a community that even the enforcement force facing difficulty to penetrate and it will require strong community engagement.

Promote the sense of ownership of the project and treating the community as equal partner are both crucial in community engagement strategy.
The 31 members committee was selected based on the following:
• Gender equality. ( 15 female and 16 male)
• Residents from 4 different divisions of the community so that all parts of Korail are represented.
• Youth and old people.
